The beaches of Marina di Taranto, located east of the Marina in the heart of the Old City, are famous for their natural beauty and variety. These beaches stretch for kilometers along the coast, featuring soft sand and lush pine forests alternating with impressive cliffs overlooking the sea.

Today, the marina of Taranto is emerging as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Apulia, coming out of the shadow of more renowned regional locations.

Posto Vecchio

The Posto Vecchio Beach, located on the Ionian Sea in the Taranto region, is a charming destination for travelers. It is 8.3 km from the center of Taranto and just 1.3 km from the center of Lama. This small bay has a pebbled coast and crystal-clear waters, requiring special shoes for access. It suits a range of visitors, including those traveling alone or seeking relaxation, but tends to get crowded during the high season. The beach is wild and lacks infrastructure, offering a natural experience. Easily accessible with parking nearby and less than 500 meters from the road, it is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and other activities. If you're staying nearby, you can reach it on foot, otherwise, there are public transport and taxi options available.

Lido Bruno 

The Lido Bruno Beach offers a serene and pristine environment, ideal for relaxation. The area, part of the San Vito settlement, is well-maintained and clean, creating a perfect atmosphere for various visitors, including solo travelers or those seeking relaxation. Despite its beauty, it is not overly crowded even during high season.

The beach is managed by beach clubs that occupy the entire coastline, providing exclusive services to their visitors. These include lounge chairs, umbrellas, a coffee bar, changing rooms, showers, sinks, and water activity equipment rental such as catamarans and jet skis. During the season, there is also a lifeguard on duty.

The beach is surrounded by Mediterranean scrub and offers a lovely view of the Ionian Sea, with sandy seabeds populated by marine life like sea urchins and fish.

Lido Azzurro

The Lido Azzurro, located near Taranto in Apulia, is renowned for its natural beauty, with 4 km of golden sandy beaches along a coastline of turquoise sea. Castellaneta Marina

Castellaneta Marina, located along the Ionian coast in the province of Taranto, is a renowned seaside resort. Originally a swampy area, it underwent transformation in the 1960s with reclamation and the construction of bathing establishments and accommodation facilities, becoming a popular tourist destination. Its coastline, nearly 5 km long, boasts soft sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, worthy of the Blue Flag recognition.

The coastline hosts about twenty beaches, with stretches of free beaches and equipped lidos offering sunbed, umbrella, and pedal boat rentals, as well as bathrooms, showers, and restaurants. Among the best, we mention Lido Estea, Lido Valentino, Lido Paradiso, Lido Trocadero, Kalè Beach Club, Lido La Barchetta, and Lido Sporting.

The center of Castellaneta Marina, located along Viale dei Pini and the waterfront of Eroi del Mare, offers shops, restaurants, beach facilities, and nightclubs, making it an ideal destination for families with children and young people alike.

During the summer, the area comes alive with events, markets, concerts, and film festivals. It is easily accessible by car, with road links from Taranto, Martina Franca, and Ostuni, and has a train station on the Bari-Taranto line. Buses connect Castellaneta with the Marina, with services intensified in the summer.

Marina di Ginosa

Marina di Ginosa, located in the Taranto Ionian arc, is an ideal seaside destination for those seeking clear waters and sandy beaches. It has received the Blue Flag from the FEE for the quality of the sea and beaches, as well as the 3 Blue Sails from Legambiente. The coastline is framed by a Mediterranean pine forest that stretches for kilometers.

Particularly suitable for children, Marina di Ginosa offers crystal-clear waters, wide and clean beaches, ensuring safety. The seabeds host rich marine biodiversity, with Posidonia meadows, coralline algae, anemones, sponges, and various species of fish and turtles.

Not far away, Lake Salinella, on the border between Apulia and Basilicata, is a birdwatching destination destined to become a natural oasis. Nearby is also the medieval coastal watchtower, Torre Mattoni, located on a dune covered with Mediterranean vegetation.

For children, an eco-sustainable adventure park provides fun within a pine forest, with 13 trails of varying difficulty and 100 skill games among the trees. The area is perfect for activities like canoeing and picnic areas.

The Regina and Cavese pine forests are two green lungs for nature walks. Ginosa Marina beach, part of the western coast of the Gulf of Taranto, offers a beautiful wide and long coastline, with free stretches and equipped lidos. The blue and crystal-clear sea, with sandy seabeds, is ideal for swimming. The area has well-frequented and popular beach facilities.

San Pietro in Bevagna
Long beach fringed by sand dunes dotted with typical vegetation. Some stretches of beach have a bar, sunbeds and umbrellas, while others are completely free and express all their wild charm.


Torre Colimena
The beach is part of the Regional Nature Reserve and is home to several species of flamingos, herons and swans. The sand is white and grainy, the sea bed is beautiful and clear.
