Location
The Hotel Grotta Palazzese is located in Polignano a Mare, about 35 km away from the airport of Bari and 8 km from Monopoli on top of a rock by the sea and close to the city centre.
Hotel
In old Polignano the sea has created caves which arrive under the houses. In the biggest cave, la Palazzese, which was already hall of feasts in the 18th century and was used by the Duke of Leto. Today the cave is the hotel’s restaurant.
24 metres above the grotto, from the surface of the sea, where the restaurant is situated from October to April. The main building is completed by other rooms which are situated in crown-style around the grotto and have all a small balcony. During the summer months sun, and party-atmosphere and in the other months: sea, sun and relax in a small town in which the temperature never goes under 0°C.
Rooms
Realised completely in tuff, situated in ancient spaces, with balcony above the sea. All 25 rooms have sat. TV, phone, mini fridge and air condition. The standard rooms are located in the main building, most of them with window to the sea. There are 5 different categories which differ from each other by their size and their location. Some are Junior Suites with living-room-space and bed-room-space. Their balcony is right above the sea.
Restaurant
The Hotel Grotta Palazzese has two space where the restaurant is located: from May to October in the natural cave, during the other month in the space above the sea with wide window surfaces, like on a ship. The elegant and refined restaurant is the ideal place for business or romantic dinners. The Chef de cuisine and the Maitre will know how to conquer you with their flavours united with quality, tradition and fantasy. Langoustes, fish, mussels are the specialities as well as local Mediterranean dishes. For those who don’t like fish there is an alternative of meat dishes. Very good is the wine cellar with a choice of regional, national and international wines.
