The Osteria del Tempo Perso, since 1983, is situated in the old town of Ostuni, the so called white town, only a few meters away from the cathedral. It is perfectly inserted in this ancient location thanks to its traditions and its ancient rooms. The restaurant has been several times awarded by the most important restaurant guides: Gambero Rosso, Touring Club Italiano, Guida Michelin and gained the Quality Mark of the Apulian Cuisine. The New York Times and the Japanese TV have dedicated to the Osteria articles and TV shows.
The restaurant is divided in two rooms. The first one was an ancient bakery obtained from a cave which dates back to the 14th century. The second room is a real museum: hung on the walls we find a collection of tools and equipments, witness of tradition and the ancient ploughman civilization. The interiors are furnished with sober good taste and fine elegance contrasting with the centuries old rough rock walls.
The cuisine of the Osteria del Tempo Perso, respecting the most strict culinary Apulian tradition (and, of course that of Ostuni), proposes genuine flavours specialities. The location where these dishes are partaken enhances the flavours and exalts the taste. The traditional dishes are elaborated and adapted to the modern taste following the rhythm of the seasons and the inspiration of the chef.
The wine cellar
