Masseria San Domenico – Savelletri di Fasano – Apulia

 

Position
The Masseria San Domenico lies about five hundred meters from the sea on the coast between Bari and Brindisi in the territory of Savelletri di Fasano. It is one of the oldest watch towers built in the XV century. This fortified building was used to warn against attacks by the Turks. Bari is at about 55 Km (35 minutes by car) whereas Brindisi is only 35 Km away and 25 minutes by car.

Hotel
After a careful restoration, completed respecting the old shapes and the original building materials, the tower was converted into a deluxe resort whose charm recalls the history of the region, a land where the Eastern and the Mediterranean cultures have mixed well together. Against the backdrop of the blue sky and sea, the whitewashed stone buildings stand out amidst ancient silver olive groves, among which lies a magnificent irregularly-shaped pool encircled by rocks and plants.

You can enjoy here a relaxing and peaceful place with an efficient and careful service.

Rooms
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, satellite television, safe, wireless internet connection, mini bar, hairdryer and radio. Goose feather and latex pillows are available. Beds are king size (190x200cm) but, on request, the hotel can provide 2 separate beds.

Classic single room
The single rooms have a size of about 22 sqm and garden view. The bed is queen size.

Superior Room: Elegantly furnished, the Superior Rooms (25sqm) are bright and spacious. They are located on the first floor and offer a delightful garden or courtyard view.

Deluxe room: Charming and tastefully furnished, Deluxe rooms (30sqm) are on the ground floor and strategically close to the Spa and Thalasso therapy centre. These rooms overlook the olive groves and have a small private patio (5sqm) equipped with table and chairs: the perfect place to relax or have breakfast.

Junior Suite: Spacious and beautifully appointed, all Junior Suites (40sqm) are located on the ground floor and offer a charming garden view. Junior Suites have 1 bedroom with a comfortable open plan living room and 1 spacious bathroom with separate shower cubicle. Although there is no balcony, there are two windows overlooking the sunny courtyards.

Junior Suite Classic: Perfect for families, the Junior Suites Classic (40 sqm) have 1 double bedroom connectied with a second single bedroom, 2 bathrooms of which one with Jacuzzi, shower and a large balcony (15sqm) with private patio enjoying a view over the olive groves.

Masseria Suite: The Masseria Suites (45sqm) are among the most beautiful rooms in the hotel. Furnished to the highest standards, they are located on the first floor, with bedroom, separate living area, 2 bathrooms with bath tub and a spacious terrace equipped with sun lounges, table and chairs. They enjoy a magnificent garden or sea view.

Thalasso Suite: The Thalasso Suites are the largest suites in the hotel (52sqm), with separate living room and a charming little balcony overlooking the garden or offering a superb sea view. They are located on the first floor and give the advantage of being very close to the Spa and Thalasso therapy centre. They are elegantly appointed and offer all comforts. The bathroom is very large and features a separate shower cubicle. A second courtesy toilet is also available.

San Domenico Suite: The San Domenico Suite is the most exclusive suite (130mtq), in a prime location and with a huge terrace (70sqm) offering a breathtaking sea view. With 2 double bedrooms and a separate living room featuring a beautiful fireplace and kitchenette area, this suite is ideal for families or for friends but also for romantic getaways. It is elegantly furnished and equipped with all modern comforts like fax machine, DVD player and satellite TV. The 2 bathrooms feature Jacuzzi bathtub or Jacuzzi shower”.

Restaurants & Bars
The "San Domenico" restaurant welcomes its guests in a suggestive dining room with arched vaults dating back to the 1700's. Keeping with its original purpose of oil press, the Masseria San Domenico's restaurant offers specialties from the typical cuisine of Puglia and a rich selection of the best wines from this region. Vegetables and home grown products, olive oil and a great part of the fruits are grown or produced in  the land which belongs to the masseria. Fresh fish and shellfish come from the Adriatic Coast. The restaurant "Pool Grill", adjacent to the pool, offers a regional meal buffet lunch. In the restaurant room "Il Fico" guests can have their breakfast whereas the two bars "San Domenico" and "Pool", are available for a relaxing and refreshing drink.

SPA Thalassoterapy
The quintessence of the Wellness-Centre is refined and purified sea water and treated seaweeds. The hotel offers 8 Thalassotherapy rooms, 14 massage rooms, traditional and oriental massages, gym, sauna and steam room. There is also an indoor heated pool for thalassotherapy treatments. Aromatic colour showers and Kneipp treatments.   

Facilities/Services
A few metres away from the farmhouse there is a 18-holes golf course which belongs to the Farmhouse. The hotel also disposes of tennis courts.

Good to know
The Masseria San Domenico accepts in August bookings with a minimum stay of 7 nights, children over 12 years are welcome and no pets are allowed.
